REMOVING THE RISK

Successfully buying original art on-line is becoming a more frequent occurrence for art-lovers and collectors. This will only increase in future – particularly because the perceived risks to the buyer are being removed or ameliorated by more artists offering a well-managed purchasing process.

The biggest risk is usually described by the buyer’s first question which is almost always . . . what if the contemporary painting I love doesn’t look right in my room?

Solving this dilemma starts with offering the ability to view on-line, an artwork as ‘Room Hung’ as this does give a better idea of just what a larger painting looks like in a real situation. You will notice that just about all of my Available Now gallery paintings offer this facility – see Shadows Of The Summer Sun below as an example. On request I can rotate a chosen painting through several different types of rooms for you.

In addition to this, you, as a prospective buyer can email to me a photo of YOUR wall space – the one you are considering hanging one of my paintings on. This needs to be taken square-on, as far back as possible, without tall furniture obscuring the wall in question. I can then insert an image of the painting you are interested in, for you to look at . . . and I can even rotate other paintings of mine, on your wall space, for you to consider. There is no charge made for doing this for you. Contact me if you would like to work through this risk ameliorating exercise before acquiring that beautiful new contemporary artwork of mine, you have your eye on.

In addition to this, within New Zealand, I am often able to bring a selected larger painting to your home or offices, so that you can assess it, held or hung in situ. While this makes the buying decision much easier, there is no obligation to purchase. Where personal delivery is not feasible it is often possible to arrange for a courier delivery (and return) of a painting (or paintings) to be made so that the same process can be undertaken in your space, without me. Sometimes a small charge is made for this latter service but taken together, all of the above steps will allow you to buy on-line, to invest in one of my works, without risk.
